Making the Y Affordable For All
At the McGaw Y, no child, family or adult is turned away because they cannot afford membership. We recognize that for our community to succeed, everyone must be given the opportunity to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.
We are committed to making the Y affordable for everyone who would like to join, and through “Membership for All” – a sliding-scale fee system appropriate for a broad range of household income levels and family sizes – we can work with you to make that happen.
If you think that Y membership might be a stretch for you financially, please come and see us. We can find out where you fit on the sliding scale and make it possible for you to join, so just stop by the front desk with your most recent Federal 1040 tax form (this is the document we’ll use to verify your household income and family size).
Youth Scholarships
All kids deserve a chance to learn, grow and thrive … and play! That’s why we have scholarships for kids who otherwise might not be able to participate, which lower the cost of classes or activities (one discounted program per child per session).
Scholarships make it possible for kids to learn to swim, or participate in an after-school program where they can get help with homework and learn new skills that broaden their horizons. Scholarships might mean a first-ever chance for a kid to experience all the personal growth that comes with a two-week stay at overnight camp, or getting the head start in life that a developmental day care program provides. However they are used, scholarships mean giving all the youth in our community access to activities that will eventually make the whole community stronger.
