We’re Building Bright Futures
At the Y, we believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for quality of life and future success. That’s why our infant/toddler, preschool, and school age programs are staffed with teachers who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of kids.
We respect and nurture your child’s need to feel connected and supported in trying new things. At our center, babies develop trust and security, preschoolers experience early literacy and learn about their environment, and school-age kids make friends, learn new skills, and receive homework assistance. We’re committed to building confident kids today and bright futures tomorrow.
Our Philosophy
Our job as Y staff is to help build on the foundation that you set at home and provide an extended family for your child. We do that by ensuring an active environment where children feel safe to explore new ideas about how the world works. We encourage them to make new friends and teach them how to express their feelings and emotions. Together we learn and talk about our differences and how to respect them, and often discover that we are far more alike than we may ever have imagined.
We know that children learn though play. We create meaningful opportunities to discover through art, music, science, math, and literacy in our weekly curriculum. Children will experience the world around them through unique enrichments, such as swim lesson and group play in the gym, as well as character building and becoming involved in the Evanston community.
