Full & Part Day Preschool

Part-day preschool now enrolling Pre-K 4- and 5-year-olds

Due to demand by the community for more places for children needing to be prepared for successful Kindergarten entry, we have opened an additional room for this age group in our Monday – Friday part-day program. Our teachers are skilled and experienced in preparing children for school, and we invite you to come and tour our center, see the classroom, and talk to our staff. Your child could start part-day preschool this Fall.

The McGaw YMCA Children’s Center is an enriching, fun-filled place for your kids to spend their days.

Our preschool-aged children love coming to the center because we engage them in activities that interest and excite them. We encourage them to make new friends and teach them how to express their feelings and emotions. Together we learn and talk about our differences and how to respect them, and often discover that we are far more alike than we may ever have imagined.

In addition to the set curriculum, when planning lessons for the day our preschool teachers appreciate that kids learn as much from each other as they do from their teachers. Teachers seek to draw big educational concepts from children’s seemingly casual comments. Within their conversations are golden nuggets that lead to discoveries about each other and the world around us.

We also incorporate the traditions and cultures of our students’ families into our daily actions, and we remain consistent. Rather from quickly jumping from one topic to another, we investigate new ideas over time and across all of our activities.
