MCGAW YMCA ANNOUNCES BOARD SLATE OF NOMINEES & ANNUAL MEETING

Each year, the McGaw YMCA Board of Directors nominates a new cohort of individuals to serve on the Board and the Membership of the McGaw YMCA votes to elect new and returning board members during the virtual Board Election. The proposed slate is listed below. In addition, as part of the FY23 Board election, the Membership will also vote on changes to the By-Laws of the Association as submitted by the Board of Directors. The updated bylaws can be viewed here.  The FY23 virtual Board Election will be held August 1-8. Current McGaw Y members will receive an email at 8:00 a.m. (CDT) on Monday, August 1, with a link to the virtual ballot to cast their vote. The polls will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, August 8. An Important Message from Monique: Shooting in Highland Park

Dear McGaw YMCA community The tragedy at the Highland Park Fourth of July parade is a heartbreaking moment that has changed the lives of children, families, and an entire community forever. My heart is heavy as I think about their journeys ahead as they navigate the incredible pain and grief of surviving gun violence. Like our neighbors to the north, many children and families and community members were preparing to watch Evanston’s Fourth of July parade later that afternoon. Some were even planning to walk with me and other McGaw YMCA supporters along the parade route. Though our parade was canceled here in Evanston, we carry the weight of what happened in Highland Park, and what can and does happen too often in communities across the U.S. The Y works every day to transform lives and communities.
