Member Spotlight: Edith and Sonia

Edith and Sonia stand side by side in a group fitness studio, smiling.

Member Spotlight: For Edith and Sonia, showing up at the McGaw Y is better together. The two have been friends for more than a decade, and today, they spend much of their time at the Y, encouraging each other to stay active, try group fitness classes, and keep moving. Edith is a McGaw Y member, while Sonia visits through her Nationwide membership benefit. Their friendship has become an important part of their routines and a source of motivation to keep coming back. For Sonia, staying active has made a difference in the everyday moments that matter most. She can help her grandchild without pain, and can keep up when they play soccer. She’s also gained confidence in her ability to participate in fitness classes. Edith has felt changes, too. She has more energy, moves more easily, and feels better in her body. Just as important, Edith says, is how welcome
