At the Y, we care about your holistic health and we know that how you fuel your body is just as important as your physical activity. Eating right can seem like a challenge, but it doesn’t have to be. Our Registered Dietitian supports your wellness journey with individual nutrition counseling and education – setting small, achievable goals to create lasting change with both virtual and in-person appointments.

Getting Started
STEP 1: Review our packages in the chart below and click on the link to purchase your package online.
STEP 2: Once your package has been purchased, your session can be scheduled with our McGaw MindBody online reservation system. You can also contact Alyson Mann at alysonm@mcgawymca.org or call 847-475-7400 for scheduling assistance.
STEP 3: Prior to your first session, complete the Nutrition Coaching packet. You can email your completed packet to Alyson Mann, Health and Wellness Manager at alysonm@mcgawymca.org or bring it to your first session.

BONUS: Nutrition coaching time may also be utilized as personal training and/or massage time.
*Initial consultation is 60 minutes. Follow-up appointments can be used in 15-minute increments. Virtual or in-person appointments are available.
Meet McGaw’s Registered Dietitian
Melaney Van Spankeren
Melaney is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist licensed in the state of Illinois, who completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before serving as a health coach for her dietetic internship at Vanderbilt University.
Following an “every food fits” approach, Melaney works with clients to empower them to make the best health decisions without feeling like favorite foods have to be sacrificed. Tailoring an individual approach based on lifestyle, prior knowledge and personal goals, Melaney supports small, gradual changes to achieve lifestyle and lifetime transformation. Always active, Melaney loves to swim, bike, run and spend time with friends and family.
