How does the Trading Post work while my camper is at camp?
Camp Echo’s store is known at camp as the Trading Post, or more commonly as the TP. Camp Echo’s Trading Post is open to campers throughout their time at camp. Campers can purchase Camp Echo gear such as t-shirts and sweatshirts, essential items such as toothpaste and sunscreen and edible treats such as ice cream and candy (at specified times).
How do campers purchase items?
Your initial TP deposit of $50 is listed as part of your Camp Echo fees. We are unable to extend credit to campers that run out of funds, but if your child’s TP account runs low mid-session we will email you and explain how to add more on your CampInTouch account. (Feel free to say no; Campers will learn to budget!)
In the spring parents can adjust the amount in their campers TP account prior to the start of the session to cover the anticipated purchases of their camper – a good budgeting exercise to go through with campers! Prices range from $5 to $40. With the initial $50 dollars all campers have the ability to buy anything but not everything from TP.
How do I add money to my campers Trading Post account?
You can view the balance and add funds to your camper’s account on your CampInTouch account. Do not send money to camp.
Non-routine medical fees are also charged to the camper’s TP account; parents will be notified when these fees are incurred.
Adventure Trip participants do not receive the automatic $50 charge to set up a TP account as they spend so little time on camp. Parents/guardians may set one up if they would like their camper to be able to purchase something if they have time on camp, but that is not guaranteed. Participants of Adventure Trips can bring cash to camp for spending on the trip. However, Adventure Trip participants do not need to bring any cash, as all expenses are included in the costs of the trip- this includes all snacks during travel and a group souvenir at the end!
