Registration Policies
We have established the following registration policies for McGaw YMCA Summer Day Camp programs.
Registration for Summer Day Camp (entering grades 1-6) is available online using the McGaw YMCA registration system. If you have registered previously, please log on with your existing account information. If you do not have an account, please create one. Parents/guardians can also register their campers in person at the McGaw YMCA Children’s Center during regular business hours.
Registration is first come, first served within each registration window: 1) Priority registration for returning campers, 2) New camper registration for McGaw Y members and Northwestern affiliates; and 3) new camper registration. View a list of current registration dates on the Summer Day Camp webpage.
Online registration ends one week before the full payment due date for the preferred camp week. The final day for all online registration is June 2. NOTE: A paper registration form must be used for those applying for financial assistance including the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) and DCFS assistance. Please include a copy of your current approval letter when you submit your registration form.
CAMPER REQUESTS. If you have a specific camper pairing request, please communicate it on the form during camp registration. Each camper may only request one specific friend, and that friend must reciprocate the request and be in the same grade. While we strive to fulfill friend requests based on availability, we cannot guarantee accommodation. We understand the importance of familiar faces throughout the camp day, and we provide numerous opportunities for children to interact with campers from other groups, fostering new friendships and enriching the camp experience.
CAMPERS WITH DISABILITIES. The McGaw YMCA is fully committed to the participation of all individuals in our programs. We will make every effort to accommodate your child's needs within our available resources. Please reach out to Andrea Hillsamer at 847-475-8580 ext. 313 prior to submitting a camp registration application to discuss potential options. If your child has a current 504/Individualized Education Plan (IEP), you will need to provide it at the time of registration.
REGISTERING PARENT/GUARDIAN. If the camp registration form includes more than one parent/guardian, the individual who signed the form will be identified as the Registering Parent/Guardian. This person is responsible for submitting payments, managing the camper's enrollment information, and providing all required information. The Registering Parent/Guardian is the sole person authorized to make changes to the Authorized Pick-Up List or the camper’s file.
