McGaw YMCA President/CEO Monique Parsons was honored at the Chessmen Club’s Annual Community Service Awards Dinner & Benefit. EVANSTON, IL. – On Friday, October 14, the Chessmen Club of the North Shore, Inc. honored McGaw YMCA’s President/CEO Monique Parsons for her outstanding community service at the 64th Annual Community Service Awards Dinner & Benefit. Fellow honorees included Robin Rue Simmons, former Evanston 5th Ward Alderperson and Founder and Executive Director of First Repair, and Evanston Township High School Student Olivia Ohlson. New McGaw YMCA Website Launched

EVANSTON, IL. – McGaw YMCA is pleased to announce that its redesigned website launched October 8. Redesigning mcgawymca.org has not been done since 2010. This accomplishment is a critical component of McGaw Y’s strategic goals to enhance audience experiences and engagement. The improved website is to ensure the YMCA remains relevant in a quickly evolving marketplace. The new website combines the McGaw YMCA main website and the Children’s Center website under one domain: www.mcgawymca.org. The Camp Echo website is listed under a new domain, ymcacampecho.org. Users can find it with a seamless click from the main website. Created with the user experience in mind, the new website gives better access to program information and improved resources for members. McGaw YMCA Board Welcomes Three New Members

New board members were announced at the 137th Annual Meeting on August 9. EVANSTON, IL — The McGaw YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community, announced the election of three new members to serve three-year terms on its Board of Directors. The announcement was made at the 137th Annual Meeting held August 9. The following community leaders have been elected to the board: Michael Bergmann, Executive Director of the Public Interest Law Initiative Nancy Owens, recently retired V.P./Chief Financial Officer at the YMCA of the USA Corey Winchester, a locally, regionally, and nationally recognized educator who mainly serves as a History/Social Science teacher and Staff Coordinator of Students Organized Against Racism (SOAR) at Evanston Township High School The Annual Meeting was held in person at the McGaw YMCA for the first time since 2019.
