The McGaw YMCA offers several free, six-week summer learning programs through a partnership with Evanston/Skokie School District 65. Students are selected by the school district based on their specific academic needs or other qualifying criteria. Summer Learning Program (Grade K-5)
The Y's Summer Learning Program (SLP) is a free, six-week program designed to help advance students’ academic achievement through a full-day summer experience. Our program combines small group, rigorous literacy and math instruction with hands-on activities. Enrichment activities include art, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), music, fitness, sports, beach trips, field trips, and more!

MetaMedia Summer Experience (Grades 6-8)
MetaMedia Summer Experience (MSX) is a free, six-week program created for Black and brown middle school youth who wish to explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) concepts.
In partnership with Northwestern University's School of Education and Social Policy, MSX looks to cultivate 21st century skills in a positive, collaborative, and culturally rooted environment. Working alongside caring mentors, students will be able to investigate their personal and collective histories while gaining comfort with a variety of learning tools and modes of expression.
