Personal training at the McGaw YMCA helps you maximize your time and results. Whether your goal is weight loss, muscle gain, event training, or overall wellness, our nationally certified personal trainers provide expert guidance, personalized programming, and ongoing support through in-person or virtual training options. Each plan is tailored to your goals, with customized recommendations for training services and frequency to help you stay motivated, overcome challenges, and break through plateaus.

Getting started with personal training at the Y is simple. Choose the package that best fits your goals and schedule and purchase below.

    Purchase training time in hours and use it in 15-minute increments. Sessions are valid for 180 days.

After purchasing a package, schedule your sessions by emailing Alyson Mann, calling 847-475-7400 ext. 232, or using the Scheduling tool on this page. If this is your first personal training experience at the Y, please complete the Personal Training Packet and bring it with you to your first session, or arrive a few minutes early to complete it in person.

Personal Training Cancellation Policy. Power Package, Virtual Package, and Fitness Plan packages: First month is paid in full at time of enrollment. Second month is prorated based off of the week you signed up. Third month and forward are paid at full rate. Cancellation must be received in writing by the 15th of the month prior. One week of training may be rolled over into the following month while draft remains active.

Flex Packages

Our popular Flex Package allows you to apply your flex minutes toward any combination of personal training and wellness services at the Y, including personal training, nutrition coaching and massage therapy. Flex Package minutes may be applied in 15-minute increments toward personal training, nutrition coaching, and/or massage for the equivalent time (e.g., 30 flex minutes = 30-minute massage). Flex Package sessions are valid 180 days from the purchase date. 

Flex packages are available in increments of 3, 6, 9, 15, or 18 hours.

            Power Package

            Take your fitness to the next level with our monthly personal training package. Our certified YMCA trainers provide individualized training programs to help you achieve and maintain your health and fitness goals. Our Power Package provides savings and convenience as a monthly in-person training option. All sessions are 45 minutes in duration.

            Power packages are available at 1 training session per week or 2 training sessions per week.

            Personal Training Fitness Plan

            This fitness tracker program is designed to keep you focused on your fitness goals. With the Fitness Plan, your trainer will work with you to set and achieve personalized goals each month over the course of one year.

            Virtual Fitness Plan Option: This monthly virtual program option is designed with check-ins from your trainer over Zoom. One personalized goal-specific fitness program is sent to you each month with a focus on achieving your goals. 60 minutes of virtual face-to-face time with your trainer is included.

                      Pilates Reformer Personal Training

                      Pilates Reformer Personal Training maximizes your workout experience at the Y. Guided by Joseph Pilates’ principles and performed on the Reformer, this dynamic training builds strength without bulk while improving flexibility, posture, and body awareness. Enjoy a moderate yet challenging pace that strengthens your core and revitalizes your body. Available exclusively to McGaw Y members. Packages are sold separately from personal training.

                      To start your Pilates experience, select the session or package that fits your needs. If this is your first session, download and complete the Pilates Training Packet or pick up a copy at the front desk. Once your packet is received, an instructor will contact you within three (3) business days.

                      Pilates Reformer Training Cancellation Policy. If you need to cancel an appointment, please notify the trainer 24 hours in advance to avoid full charges. Appointments canceled with less than a 24-hour notice will be charged the full rate of the session.
