Customer Service Associate

The Customer Service Associate works to serve the needs of all our members. This Associate is responsible for phone management, greeting parents and monitoring building security measures to ensure excellent service for our current and potential families. They provide assistance to the Admissions team in handling the daily operations of the Children’s Center, including Children’s Files, data entry, paperwork support, registration assistance, and other tasks as assigned by their supervisor. The Customer Service Associate reports to the Admissions Manager and is a member of the Admissions staff team. This position calls for a strong commitment to the YMCA movement and the Mission of the McGaw YMCA. Salary Range: $15.50 per hour

Department: Children’s Center

Employment Type: Part-time Hourly – Non-Exempt

Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 2:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains positive relationships with other staff, children and parents
  • Participates in all required trainings including on-line and in person prerequisites, staff training week and in-services
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to cash handling and document care, safety, cleanliness, medical situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies
  • Maintains program site and equipment
  • Maintains required program records
  • Works as a team with Admissions Manager to achieve goals of the department

Experience/Education/Certification Requirements:

  • A high school diploma and at least 2 years of college credit preferred.
  • Experience in customer service required.
  • Positive attitude and great communication skills
  • Knowledge of office equipment such as fax machine, multi-line telephone, and copy machine is important.
  • Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to multi-task and perform administrative and clerical tasks.
  • Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
