The Swim Instructor provides skill-based swim and water safety instruction to people of all ages. Maintains constant supervision of students to ensure safety. Creates positive, nurturing relationships with students and builds cooperative relationships with parents and caregivers. Promotes and supports the potential of all students in program. Facilitates peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall program experience.
Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with YMCA values Adheres to program standards, including safety and cleanliness standards, and ensures consistency with evidence-based practices.
Salary Range: Up to $16.00 per hour

Days/Hours: Tuesday/ Thursday afternoons/ evenings and Saturday /Sunday mornings.
Experience/Education/Certification Requirements:
- Must enforce policies, rules and regulations of the AquaticCenter.
- Responsible for all shifts assigned.
- Required to attend all in-service trainings.
- Respond to patrons as appropriate or redirect them to a supervisor/manager.
- Report any suspected child abuse to a supervisor or aquatic management staff.
- Must have basic computer skills, including the ability to respond to email.
- Must be able to complete online testing, when required.
- Must be comfortable with children in deep water.
