The counselor is responsible of being a middle school after school counselor with MetaMedia and assisting the Meta Leads in supporting the planning, implementation, and facilitation of program activities and STEM curriculum for our marker spaces. The counselors under the direction of the Meta Lead will help guide students in their social development ensuring a safe, enriching and healthy learning environment.
Counselors will support youth in exploring STEM interest, building community, and overall Meta experience. The counselor primary responsibility is to build positive relationships with campers and use the relationship as a tool to support their learning.
Salary Range: $16-$17

Employment Type: Part-time Hourly – Non Exempt
Days/Hours: Monday -Friday, 2:00 – 6:00 p.m., maximum 20hrs per week
Experience/Education/Certification Requirements/Requisite Computer Skills:
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• High school Diploma or equivalent and/or Some College Experience
• A minimum of one years’ experience working with youth in the middle school grades.
• Must have strong leadership and diplomacy skills.
• Exceptional group management, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Must model the maker mindset and have strong interest and/or background in maker education
• Must be able to support middle-school youth with different learning styles
