Red Cross Instructor

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching Red Cross courses to individuals of various skill levels, ensuring they are well-prepared to respond in emergency situations. This role requires strong communication skills, a passion for safety, and the ability to engage with participants effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Red Cross training sessions for diverse groups, including lifeguards, swim instructors, and community members.
  • Stay up to date with training materials to ensure compliance with current safety standards and best practices.
  • Provide hands-on demonstrations of first aid techniques and CPR procedures.
  • Assess participant performance during practical exercises and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of participant attendance and course completion.
  • Maintain and implement safety standards and procedures at all times to ensure a well-run program in a safe, positive environment

Salary Range: $25.00 per hour

Department: Swim, Sports, Play

Employment Type: Part-time Hourly – Non-Exempt

Days/Hours: Weekends or school holidays. The ideal candidate is available 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Experience/Education/Certification Requirements:

  • 1+ year as a Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor is preferred.
  • Certification as a Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor is required; additional certifications or experience in aquatics or first-aid/CPR is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage participants effectively in both group settings and one-on-one interactions.
