Staff Accountant/Payroll Manager

The Staff Accountant/Payroll Manager is responsible for supporting key accounting functions, with a primary focus on payroll administration and credit card reconciliations. This role helps to ensure compliance with local and federal requirements and supports accurate and timely financial reporting. This position works closely with the Sr. Director of Accounting to assist with financial close processes and audit preparation. Additionally, this position supports the internal controls related to payroll and credit card processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Salary Range: $45,600 – $51,000 annually

Department: Finance

Employment Type: Full-time Salaried, Exempt

Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week

Experience/Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in managing Accounting operations, including Payroll, Accounts Payable, Cash Receipts, Cash Management and Banking
  • Ability to analyze and present information from diverse financial materials
  • Knowledge of accounts payable, payroll, Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel (such as lookups and pivot tables) and expertise in Payroll/HR systems as well as the related functionality of Financial Systems (Financial Edge a plus)
  • Detailed oriented with a high regard for accuracy and able to work independently
  • Ability to effectively interact with diverse group of employees and work with managers to help them in solving financial issues
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive
  • Ability to contribute to or lead a team
