McGaw YMCA is looking for a Lead Basketball Instructor for our growing youth sports programming. We are looking for individuals who are energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated to work with young children ages 5-14 with a preference for candidates with experience leading elementary through middle school age recreational/beginner participants.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate basketball programs for youth ages 5-14.
- Build a positive relationship and environment for children, parents and staff.
- Achieve and measure program outcome, benefit and retention goals.
- Communicates with participant families before/after session.
Salary Range: $40.00 per hour
Department: Swim, Sports, Play
Employment Type: Part-time Hourly – Non-Exempt
Days/Hours: Thursdays, from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. and/or Saturdays from 10:55 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Experience/Education/Certification Requirements:
- 3+ years of sports coaching experience
- 3+ years of youth development experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with children
- Ability to build rapport with children
- Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills
- Excellent physical strength and stamina
