Sarita Smith – Senior Director of Youth Enrichment & Engagement
My name is Sarita Smith and I am the Senior Director of Youth Enrichment and Engagement and I love my job! I am excited that we have an opportunity to close the ‘opportunity gap’ and provide a level playing field for STEAM and ‘making’ in the Evanston community. I’m a bit of a practical joker and loving making people laugh. A weird thing I do is eat snickers but I cut off all of the chocolate, I don’t like chocolate, but the combination of nugget, caramel, and peanuts is AWESOME!!!

Michael Zang – Program Administrator
Michael “MikeMikeMike” Zang has been working at MetaMedia since the Fall of 2016. Having come from a background in fine arts, he is very interested in the possible creative applications of new technologies to the art world and his practice. He is also very fond of building things (especially when saws are involved). Mike has a cat named Seamus. Seamus loves pizza.

Samuel Carroll – Mentor & Marketing Specialist
Samuel Carroll was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. The product of a love of language, the mentorship of Mike Hawkins, and a city misunderstood, Sam writes and performs with the intent to give voice to the voiceless. He has performed with the likes of John Legend, George Duke, Esperanza Spaulding, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Angela Davis, and many more. He plans to make sure Brother Mike is a present in the space as possible, by embodying the revolution he began. He’s also the resident 2K, Brawlhalla, and Particle Mace Champion.

Allen Moore – Mentor & Tech Guru
Allen Moore is a painting and Sound Artist born and raised in the village of Robbins IL, just south of Chicago. He is holds a Masters of Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University, loves video games and anything science related. Ms. Maye – Navigator
Ms. Maye came to Evanston in second grade from the South Side of Chicago. Her first school in Evanston was Lincolnwood Elementary and she has remained in Evanston ever since, graduating from Evanston Township High School in 1993. Before MetaMedia, she worked in the McGaw YMCA’s Beidler Center. Ever since working at MetaMedia, Ms. Maye has a new found love for technology and enjoys it as much as her passion for interacting with children. Ms. Maye has a secret love for TV commercials and tries to incorporate them into her everyday life!
