Season’s Greetings from the YMCA

It has been another incredible year at the Y! Every day I am so inspired by stories of kids learning how to swim for the first time, people learning how to play their first game of chess, families staying active together, and neighbors finding their home at our YMCA. And next year we’re looking forward to more memorable moments, with exciting events like celebrating Camp Echo’s centennial, and the return of our Annual Gala!

As I think about the year ahead, I’m also reminded that within Evanston and across the world, many people are facing challenging circumstances and grief, making this time of the year often difficult. As a convener, the McGaw YMCA plays a critical role in strengthening community, celebrating differences, and nurturing a true sense of belonging. Now, more than ever, we want our YMCA to be a place where people matter.

It will take all of us to make that happen – from our dedicated staff and volunteers, committed members, generous donors, community partners, and neighbors who are an essential part of our journey.

Thank you for all you do, every day. Your continued support ensures that our YMCA remains a welcoming space in Evanston for centuries to come — a place where community can thrive and where all people matter.

On behalf of the McGaw YMCA, I wish you a peaceful holiday season, filled with love, joy, and community connection.
