The journey to Camp Echo is more than a bus ride—it's the beginning of a summer filled with adventure, growth, friendship, and memories that last a lifetime.
Camp Echo's 2026 season officially began on June 7 as campers boarded buses at McGaw YMCA in Evanston, IL and set out for Fremont, Michigan. Families gathered to send off their campers with hugs, waves, and plenty of emotion, while campers eagerly anticipated the experiences waiting for them at camp.
Just hours later, those same campers arrived at Camp Echo, immediately becoming immersed in the sights, sounds, and traditions that make camp feel like a second home. From reconnecting with friends to meeting new cabin mates, the energy was contagious as another unforgettable summer got underway.
As the season begins, Camp Echo is excited to welcome campers into a community where they can build confidence, develop independence, explore new interests, create lifelong friendships, and have FUN!
If your family is preparing for camp later this summer, be sure to visit the Camper Resources section of the Camp Echo website for important information.
And there's still time to join the adventure! A limited number of spots remain available in select sessions of Traditional Youth Camp and Family Camp. If you've been considering Camp Echo this summer, register soon before sessions fill. Learn more at ymcacampecho.org/register.
