We’re pleased to announce the following updates for members related to facility hours, the use of McGaw lockers, locker rooms and entrance/exit procedures.
Extended Evening Hours for the Fitness Center
Beginning October 12
Beginning Monday, October 12, the Fitness Center will stay open until 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The last reservation time for the Fitness Center will be 7:15 p.m. on those days.
Entrance Procedure Update
Beginning October 19
Beginning October 19, members will be permitted to enter the McGaw facility up to five (5) minutes prior to their reservation time to allow additional time to store belongings. Doors to the various fitness spaces will be opened according to the scheduled reservation times:
- Pool Reservations – Aquatics Center doors open five minutes before the hour (:55)
- Fitness Center Reservations – Fitness Center doors open 15 minutes past the hour (:15)
- Indoor Group Exercise and Racquetball – reservations begin 45 minutes past the hour (:45)
To maintain adherence to our COVID-19 health and safety protocols, reservation times for each activity are spaced out to reduce congestion at the entrance and within the building. Members will not be allowed inside the facility any sooner than the 5 minutes prior to their reservation times.
As the weather turns cooler, please arrive close to the time of your reservation. Staff will get you checked in quickly and to your activity without a long wait. Masks are required while standing in line and while entering/exiting the building and in all common areas throughout the building where other members are present.
Locker Options for all Members
Beginning October 19
Starting on October 19, fitness center and indoor group exercise participants will be able to use the lockers located in the Sebring-Lewis Center Gym to store their personal belongings (e.g., keys, wallet, small bag/purse).
Upon entering McGaw, participants who wish to use lockers should head to the Sebring-Lewis Center Gym. Fitness center participants will use the lockers along the northeast wall of the gym. The lockers will be color coded by time entered: orange signs for even hours and blue signs for odd hours. This allows our team to disinfect used lockers prior to the next member using them. Indoor group exercise participants will use the lockers on the southeast side of the gym, color coded with green and purple signs. Members must bring their own locks to secure belongings.
When it is time to exit, participants will exit from the Sebring-Lewis Center Gym regardless of whether they use a locker. Only five (5) minutes will be allowed for gathering belongings from a locker. Face mask and physical distancing requirements must be observed at all times.
Express Changing Option for Swimmers
Beginning November 2
Beginning on November 2, pool participants will have access to the Everybody’s Locker Room in a limited capacity for Express Changing after their swim time only.
Upon entering the Aquatics Center, swimmers will place their personal belongings in their assigned basket. When it is time to exit the Aquatics Center, swimmers can choose to use the Express Changing option in the Everybody’s Locker Room to change out of wet swimsuits. Only five (5) minutes will be allowed for Express Changing. The showers will remain closed and time will not be provided for drying hair, etc. Out of respect for all swimmers who may be using the locker room, please use covered spaces to change.
Exit for the Aquatics Center is on the east side of the 6-lane pool. Face mask and physical distancing requirements must be observed at all times, including inside the locker room.
We ask that members use the designated locker space and strictly adhere to the arrival/departure times and Express Changing times outlined above so that lockers and locker rooms can be disinfected thoroughly between member use.
Thank you for being a part of the McGaw YMCA community!
