Swimming at the Y helps people thrive—in and out of the water. We offer a wide selection of infant and parent/child swim lessons to school-age and adult swim lessons. Our swim program teaches participants to become confident swimmers as they develop strong techniques, learn water safety and enjoy swimming as a form of exercise. Through swimming lessons, swim teams, lap swimming and more, the McGaw YMCA provides a safe environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.
Lap swim and individual aquatic exercise provide an opportunity for swimmers to work at their own pace and achieve a full body workout suitable for adults of any age. Members can make Lap Swim reservations in McGaw MindBody up to seven days in advance.
Reservations are available in 30-minute increments, at the :00 and :30 of each hour. Swimmers may make back-to-back reservations for a total of 60 minutes of lap swim time.
Living in our lakefront community, swimming and water safety skills are a vital part of our mission. The McGaw YMCA’s progressive swim lessons allow your child to move through the most appropriate level of caring instruction at their own pace. Adult lessons are for beginner and intermediate level swimmers.
Want to swim competitively in a fun and positive environment? Join the McGaw YMCA Swim team, or MYST! MYST is focused on developing swimmers ages 5 to 18. Swim team participants improve individual skills while swimming competitively and have opportunities to compete both at the local and national levels. Coaches focus on proper technique while swimmers improve their endurance, learn teamwork, make friends and, most importantly, have fun!
