Membership Cancellation
When things change and you’d like to make changes or cancel your membership, you have a number of options.
Option 1: Continue Supporting the Y with Membership Dues and Use Member Benefits
We can’t thank you enough for staying with us as a member of the Y. As the region’s leading nonprofit, we rely on your membership dues to help sustain our operations in this very uncertain time. We are not immune to economic challenges presented by the pandemic, and we are so grateful for your continued support. There is no action you need to take to remain a member.
Option 2: Place Membership on Hold
Placing your membership on hold will pause your membership dues for up to 3 months. Members on hold do not need to fill out a new membership application or financial assistance request when they return to the Y. To discuss placing your membership on hold, please call Member Services at 847-475-7400 ext. 220.Â
Option 3: Cancel Your Membership
If you need to cancel your membership, you may do so at any time. A membership cancellation form is required to be received during business hours by the 25th of the month. You can complete this form by visiting the Member Relations during operating hours or you can email us by the 20th of the month and return your electronic change/cancellation form by the 25th. Receipt of this form after the 25th of the month will result in your membership drafting an additional month.

If you choose to rejoin the Y at a later date, you may be charged a join fee and may need to complete a new membership application and/or financial assistance request.
