Aquatics Center Guidelines
We have established the following guidelines for pool use and participation in swimming programs and activities.
Appropriate swim attire required at all times. No gym shorts, street clothes or underwear permitted in the Pools.
No street shoes on pool deck or shower areas.
Rubber swim diapers (non-disposable) are required for those not potty trained.
Bring your own towel. Towel service is not available.
Shower with soap and water before entering pool.
Lifeguard on duty has ultimate authority in the aquatics area at all times. Please pay attention when the whistle is blown.
- 1 Short Whistle: Your attention is requested
- 1 Long Whistle: Clear the pool
- 3 Short Whistles: EMERGENCY – get out immediately
Change infant diapers in locker room only – not on pool deck.
Do not use pools if you have a communicable disease or had diarrhea / vomiting in past two weeks.
No nose blowing or spitting allowed in the pool.
No food, drinks, or gum permitted. Bring your own water bottle (non-glass) with a secure lid. Water fountains will be available for bottle fill only.
No horseplay, running on pool deck, or use of profanity.
No diving, flips, twists, or backward jumps.
No inflatable toys except U.S. Coast Guard approved flotation devices.
No pool use if under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Hot tub is closed.
Photography is allowed only with prior permission of Y staff member.
Swim lessons taught by YMCA staff only, outside instructors NOT permitted without prior approval.
Members and guests are required to follow the YMCA Code of Conduct.
Report concerns directly to lifeguard.
