Code of Conduct

McGaw YMCA Code of Conduct

Approved by the Healthy Living Committee

To enable the McGaw YMCA (the “Association”) to welcome everyone to use its facilities and programs, and for everyone to be comfortable and safe when using these facilities and programs, all members and guests of the Association, when using the Association’s facilities and programs, agree to conduct themselves in a way consistent with the Association’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility:

Caring. Demonstrating sincere concern for others, their needs and well-being.

Honesty. Telling the truth and demonstrating reliability and trustworthiness.

Respect. Treating others as one would like to be treated and valuing the worth of every person.

Responsibility. Doing what is right and being accountable for one’s choices and actions.

These values motivate rules of appropriate behavior and safety that are established by Association staff responsible for administering facilities and programs. Association members and guests agree to learn and comply with these rules of appropriate behavior and safety for the facilities and programs they use. These rules are posted throughout the Association’s facilities and communicated by staff leading programs.

The Association has the right to suspend or terminate the membership of any member whose behavior, whether on the Association’s premises or elsewhere, violates the rules of appropriate behavior and safety or is otherwise inconsistent with the Association’s core values. The Association similarly has the right to require a guest to leave its facilities and programs if the guest’s behavior violates the rules of appropriate behavior and safety or is otherwise inconsistent with the Association’s core values.

Effective June 2011
